My Saturday Adventure, Bios on the Hill

Mark's been working a lot. By a lot, I mean A LOT! He's been leaving around 3:30 or 4 in the morning and not getting home until 8 at night. Saturday was no exception. So, I knew I was going to be on my own. It wasn't so bad because, after my morning at the sunflower fields, I was pretty pumped about taking more photos. Luckily, Saturday was BEAUTIFUL and not rainy. That doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's "rain season" here in Oki and there are definitely more rainy days than pretty ones.

I started out by a big red bridge that takes you to some smaller islands (they're still a part of Okinawa) because a few weekends ago there were a ton of water sports in the area. I didn't have my camera at the time and I'm still kicking myself! This time, the water was much lower and there were a few ladies picking up, what I assume to be, shells. I'm not really sure what they were gathering, but they were picking them up with their hands easily so it couldn't have been something too profound, right??

I tried my tripod, but I'm still getting used to my camera in general. My tripod kind of adds more stress and I wasn't about stress on Saturday! So, I carried it around like I was someone cool who actually knew what they were doing. Ha! It's fun to pretend sometimes.

After I snapped a few (read: 50+) pictures at this little beach, I headed to Bios on the Hill. It was so awesome! If you're from Indiana, think of Conner Prairie and mix in a little Japanese... that's what this place was. They had hula hoops, goats on leashes, stilts, boat rides, orchids growing "in the wild", water buffalo, etc... It was delightful! The sun was shining, people were picnicking, and I was reading my book.

Yep, you heard it here first. I actually READ the book for book club this month! I'm actually a few weeks early, too! Honk, honk! << That's me tooting my own horn. I sat on a swing in a delightful, sunny park and read. Sounds pretty awesome, doesn't it? I also couldn't resist the cuteness that surrounded me...

After I finished my book, I walked around to check out the rest of the park. I know I talked about the animals, but here they are in all of their glory!

I had a really great, relaxing day. However, I don't think I had as much fun as this little guy...
