Biscuit Donuts

Growing up, my mom would make us these delicious donuts and donut holes. She'd toss them in cinnamon and sugar or powdered sugar and we'd watch cartoons or something while devouring all of them. Maybe that's why I love donuts so much? Who knows! Anyway, it's been a really long time since I've had them and decided that I was going to make them for my neighbors!

They're super easy. All you need to do is grab some Grands Flaky Layers biscuits, some canola oil, and different sugars. I made a basic glaze for some of them, coated the donut holes in cinnamon and sugar, and tossed the whole donuts in vanilla white sugar.

The whole donuts were meant to be filled with harvest jam that my mom bought me from a farmer's market, but because of the flaky layers of the biscuits they fell apart when I tried to fill them. So, I made a couple jam sandwiches and left the others full.

They seemed to be a hit among my friends and I think, next time, I'll experiment with some more toppings and glazes! It's always great to share an old family memory with new friends. Especially now that Caroline is around, I find myself thinking more and more about what I found special growing up! Cheers to making more great memories!!
